Helefeld*

Friedrich Uhlefeldt, a single button maker, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Friedrich Uhlefeldt is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Friedrich Helefeld, a single man, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Houehold No. 83.

It is not known in which colony he settled.

Christiansen (Unknown)*

Cecilia Christians [sic], a single woman, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Cicilia [sic] Christians [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Cecilia Christiansen, a single woman, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 80.

Luis*

Jakob Liess [sic], a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Jacob Lis is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Jakob Luis, a metal worker (Metallarbeiter), is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Houehold No. 82.

Hans (Unknown)*

Widow Elisabeth Hans (age 20) is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 78.

It is not known in which colony she settled.

The 1767 census records that Elisabeth Hans came from the German village of Schwelm.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hans family among the Volga German colonies.

Reiling*

Johann Jerelick [sic], a single weaver, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Johann Gruling [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Georg Reiling, a linen weaver (Leineweber), and his wife Maria are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 55.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

Müller (Unknown-5)*

Michael Müller, a farmer, and his wife Katharina are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 54.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

The 1767 census records that Michael Müller came from the German village of Mannhausen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Müller family among the Volga German colonies.

Müller (Beauregard-3)

Michael Müller (age 20) is recorded on the 1798 census of Beauregard in Household No. Bo38. He is probably the son of one of the Müller families that originally settled in Beauregard, but it is not known which one.

Michael Müller and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Beauregard in Household No. 63.

Oberstein, Kr. Birkenfeld, Rheinland-Pfalz

The village of Oberstein belonged to the Barons of Daun-Oberstein (who later became the Counts of Falkenstein) until 1670. From 1794 to 1818, the area in which Oberstein is located was part of the arrondissement of Birkenfeld in the French Department of Sarre. It then became part of the Kingdom of Prussia.

In 1933, the Nazis forciby united Oberstein with neighboring Idar to form the village of Idar-Oberstein.
