Hermann Heinrich Arnst, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Schäfer on 1 August 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

A note on the 1767 census records that the Arnst family resettled to the colony of Reinhard in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Hermann Heinrich Arnst came from the German region of Hamburg.
