Nikolaus Axt, a single butcher (Fleischer), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard a ship named Der Junge Heinrich (The Young Henry) under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
Nicolaus Axt is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Nikolaus Axt, a butcher (Fleischer), and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17 along with stepson Johann Adam Flemming (age 1).
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Nikolaus Axt came from the German region of Thüringen. The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Axt came from the German village of Saalfeld in Sachsen (Saxony).
