David Franz Brückmann, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Maria Magdalena, and sons (Otto Heinrich, age 5; Johann Heinrich, age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Merkel in Household No 22. They had settled there on 28 August 1766.
David Briegemann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr03.
In 1849, Georg Jakob Briegemann, son of Otto Heinrich Briegemann, moved from Merkel to Dobrinka.
The 1767 census records that David Franz Brückmann came from the German village of Alteno.
