Dö(h)ring (Stephan)
Johann Siegmund Döring, his wife Anna Elisabeth, and children (Johann Peter, age 10½; Anna Katharina, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on board a ship under the command of Lieutenant Gawril Poduzki.
Joh. Siegmund Thöringen [sic], his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johann Peter, age 11; Regina, born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that newborn daughter Regina died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Stephan on 24 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.
In 1797, Johann Just & Johann Heinrich Döring moved from Stephan to Balzer.
Ferdinand Döring from Stephan and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenberg.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Siegmund Döring was a farmer from the German region of Riedesel. The 1767 census records that Simon [sic] Döring was a weaver (Weber) from the German village of Lauterbach.
