Andreas Damm, son of Johannes Georg Damm & Catharina Eisen, was born 23 September 1739 in Bühl, southwest of Baden-Baden (today in the state of Baden-Württemberg).

Andreas Damm, a blacksmith, his wife Margaretha, and son Johann (age 1¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Severnyi Orel (Northern Eagle) under the command of Lieutenant Pyotr Malenkov.

Andreas Damm, a blacksmith (Schmied), his [new] wife Agnessa, and newborn daughter Elisabeth (age ¼) are recorded on the 1767 census of Rothammel in Household No. 11. They had settled in Rothammel on 21 August 1767. 

Andreas Damm and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rothammel in Household No. Rt07.

Andreas Damm is recorded on the 1811 census of Rothammel in Household No. 7 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Kautz in 1800.

Andresa Damm, his son-in-law Jakob Menzer, and grandsons from Rothammel are recorded on the 1811 census of Kautz in Household No. 38 along with a note that Andreas Damm died in 1799 and that Jakob Menzer died in 1805.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Damm came from the German region of Baden. The 1767 census records that Andreas Damm came from the German village of Bühl in the region of Baden-Baden.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Damm family among the Volga German colonies.
