Eberling (Urbach)
Johann Gottfried Eberling and his family (including stepson Balthasar Hannemann) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 11.
In 1775, Gottfried Eberling "escaped" Urbach.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Gottfried Eberling was a cobbler while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).
The 1767 census records that Gottfried Eberling came from the German village of Halle in the Brandenburg district.
