Martin Veit, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Новая Двинка (New Dvinka [a river in Russia]) under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34 along with new wife Gertrude Unkelbach and son Lorenz (age 2-weeks).
In 1797, Anton Feit moved from Göbel to Galka.
Lorenz Fei[t] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Göbel in Household No. Gb53 along with a note that his brother Johannes (age 28) is working in the colony of Schuck.
Johann Georg Feit and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Galka in Household No. 39 along with a note that they relocated to the daughter colony of Erlenbach.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Martin Veit came from the German region of Würzburg. The 1767 census records that Martin Veit came from the German village of Busecker Tal in the Würzburg region.
