Michael Frank, a farmer, his wife Anna Eva, and their children (Katharina, age 16; Georg, age 15) settled in the Volga German colony of Herzog on 14 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

In 1795, Georg Frank and his family moved from Herzog to Louis.

The 1767 census records that Michael Frank came from the German region of Bruchsal.
