Georg Götz, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Maria Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Herzog on 14 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7.
The 1767 census records that Georg Götz came from the German village of Kronach in the Bamberg region.
