Martin Glassmann, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and son Franziskus (age 1½) and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Rohleder on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.

Franz Glassmann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl24. Anton Glassmann, presumed to be a younger brother of Franz, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl32.

The death of Franz Glassmann in 1826 is recorded on the 1834 census of Rohleder in Household No. 24.

Anton Glassmann and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Rohleder in Household No. 38.

The 1767 census records that Martin Glassmann came from the German region of Trier.
