Haupt (Balzer)
[Johann] Georg Haupt, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Agnessa, age 12; Philipp, age 10; Anna, age 6; Margaretha, age ½) arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the galliot Die Hoffnung under the command of Skipper Johann Heschke.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 70.
In 1790, Johann Friedrich Haupt, presumed to be the son of Georg Haupt, moved from Kutter to Jost.
Friedrich Haupt from Kutter and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Jost in Household No. Jo09.
The death of Friedrich Haupt in 1819 is recorded on the 1834 census of Jost in Household No. 50.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Haupt came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Kurpfalz.
