Heberlein (Walter)
Johann Christoph Eberlein from Reppeshain [Rebgeshain] in the district of Ulrichstein & Maria Eliesabetha Stein from Ulrichstein were married on 13 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Johann Christoph Heberlein [sic] and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders.
Johann Christoph Eberling [sic], his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughters (Helena Maria, age 10; Elisabeth, born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 10 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 100.
Peter Eberlein from Walter and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Hoffental.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Heberlein is a farmer from Riedesel. The 1767 census records that Christoph Heberlein came from the German village of Hildburghausen in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
