Discussion & Documentation

Jakob Herbel, a single craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 4 June 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 39 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Dreispitz in 1768.

In 1818, Christian Herbel and his son Georg Michael moved from Dreispitz to Dobrinka.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Herbel came from the German region of Hessen.
