History

Aldea Jacobi was never really a town. Rather, it is the name of the Protestant cemetery for the town of Crespo. The Aldea Jacobi Cemetery is located a couple of kilometers south of the town of Crespo itself.

The cemetery of Aldea Jacobi was founded by Protestant families who had settled in Aldea Protestante in 1878 and moved to Crespo in 1891. They needed a place for burials. There was already a Catholic cemetery in Crespo, but not one for Protestants.

The cemetery got the name of Jacobi because many of the early burials there were members of the Jacobi family from the Volga German colony of Dönhof.
