Kaltenberger
Michael Kaltenberger and his wife Rosina immigrated from Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 9 May 1761. They are last recorded among the Danish colonies on 12 January 1765.
They joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm. They are recorded there on the 1775 census in Household No. 61.
Heinrich Kaltenberger, son of Johann Michael Kaltenberger, moved from Grimm to Franzosen in 1824. Heinrich Kaltenberger from Grimm and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Franzosen in Household No. 33.
The Eichhorns record that Michael Kaltenberger came from the German region of Baden-Durlach.
