Discussion & Documentation:

Karl Kemp was born in approximately 1786 in Prussia. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Schilling. He relocated to the colony of Grimm and is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Grimm in Household No. 311. He does not appear on the 1857 Census of Grimm, so must have died there before 1850.
