Georg Käs, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and son Joseph (age 10) arrived together from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper John Scott.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 10.
Brothers Johannes & Johann Georg Kees from Göbel and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 63.
The 1767 census records that Georg Käs came from the German village of Oberleinach in the Würzburg region.
