Kaspar Kimmel, his wife Anna Maria, and son Johann (age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm where Kaspar is recorded on the 1798 census in Household No. Gm023.

Kaspar Kimmel, his wife Johanna Maria, and sons (Alexander, age 7½; Adam Joachim, age 3½) are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 114.

Kaspar Kimmel and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm023.

The death of Andreas Kimmel, son of Kaspar Kimmel, in 1831 is recorded on the 1834 census of Grimm in Household No. 54.

Kaspar Kimmel, son of Andreas Kimmel, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Grimm in Household No. 296 along with a note that they relocated to the daughter colony of Erlenbach in 1852.

The death of Kaspar Kimmel in 1856 is recorded on the 1857 census of Erlenbach in Household No. 48.

Konrad Kimmel from Grimm and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Oberdorf in Households No. 49 & 50.

In 1790, Konrad Kimmel moved from Grimm to Kraft.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Kaspar Kimmel was a hosier from the German region of Hessen while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker) from the German region of Isenburg.
