Kufeld(t)
[Georg] Christian Kufeldt, his wife Maria, and son Friedrich (age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767. Georg Kufeldt is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29.
In 1798, Georg Kufeldt moved from Schwed to Beauregard.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Kufeldt was a farmer from Mecklenburg. The 1767 census records that he was a hunter (Jäger) from the German village of Dessow [Dessau?] in the Mecklenburg region.
