Langmann (Urbach)
Johann Gottfried Langmann, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 2 along with his new wife, Johanna Sophia.
In 1788, Gottfried Langmann and his daughter moved from Reinwald to Urbach. They are recorded on the 1798 census of Urbach in Household No. Ur26.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Gottfried Langmann was a miller while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).
The 1767 census records that Gottfried Langmann came from the German village of Doberlug in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
