Leonhard(t) (Schwab)
[Johann] Jakob Leonhardt, his wife Margaretha Elisabeth, and children (Johann Abraham, age 10; Christian Heinrich, age 7; Heinrich Wilhelm, age 5; Anna Margaretha, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 September 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Schwab on 12 September 1767. Widower Johann Jakob and his surving sons are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No 43.
The 1798 census of Schwab (Sb40) records that the widow Katharina Leonhardt and her entire family are living at the mill near the Volga German colony of Göbel.
Johann Adam Leonhardt from Schwab and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenberg.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Leonhardt was a hosier from the German region of Hanau. The 1767 census records that he was a weaver (Weber) from the German village of Kahl am Main in the Hanau region.
