Discussion & Documentation:

There are three Luea families affiliated with the colony of Zug. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) Anton Luea, a miller, and his wife Ottilia arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Anton Luja and his wife Ottillia are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Anton Luea and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Zug in Household No. Zg28.

The death of Anton Luea on 14 September 1811 is recorded in the parish register of Zug.

Nikolaus Luea, son of Anton Luea, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Schönchen in Household No. 42.

The 1767 census records that Anton Luea came from the German region of Lothringen.

(2) Peter Luea and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Zug in Household No. Zg07.

(3) Johannes Luea and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Zug in Household No. Zg38.
