Müller (Dietel-2)
There are several Müller families that settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel.
Jakob Müller was married to Katharina Applehans, daughter of Philipp Heinrich Applehans & Anna Katharina Heuff. Jakob Müller, a miller, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.
The Applehans family settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel.
The Müllers settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel. In 1792, Jakob Müller and his family moved from Dietel to Sewald. On the 1798 census of Sewald, they and their family are recorded as being from Dietel, but living in the neighboring colony of Kratzke at the mill.
In 1792, Lorenz Müller moved from Dietel to Schuck. It is believed that this Lorenz is the son of Jakob Müller and Katharina Applehans because Lorenz was married to Juliana Distel who was from Rothammel, the colony where Katharina Applehans family had settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Müller came from the German region of Darmstadt.
