Discussion & Documentation:

Widow Magdalena Müller and her children ([a] Kaspar, age 21; [b] Reinhard, age 18; [c] Johann [Heinrich], age 16; [d] Jakob, age 12; Anna, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dreispitz on 20 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

[a] Kaspar Müller from Dreispitz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Beideck in Household No. Bd33.

[b] In 1795, widow Maria Elisabeth Müller from Beideck married to a man from Schilling and took her three daughters with her. Maria Elisabeth Müller is recorded in Schilling as the widow of Burkhard Müller, but this is believed to be the aforementioned Reinhard Müller.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Reinhard Müller family.

[c] Heinrich Müller and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dreispitz in Household No. Dr15.

Jakob Müller from Dreispitz and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Dinkel in Household No. 31. [Jakob is believed to belong to this Heinrich Müller family from Dreispitz.]

[d] Jakob Müller from Dreispitz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Beideck in Household No. Bd34.

The 1767 census records that Magdalena Müller and her family came from the German village of Rabin? in the Darmstadt region.
