Georg Maÿ, a farmer, and his wife Marianna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Georg Mey [sic] and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They are recorded in 1767 on the list of Beauregard recruits in Household No. 81. They settled in the Volga German colony of Luzern in 1768.
The 1834 census of Graf records in Household No. 91 that Valentin Mai moved from Luzern to Graf in 1826.
The Beauregard list records that Georg Maÿ came from the German village of Fugenhausen in the Mainz region.
