Mattias Rohr was born 6 May 1714 in Busendorf. He married Anna Maria Schneider. Among their children born in Busendorf is Matthias, born in December 1753.

Mattias Rohr, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 16 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.

The 1767 census records that Matthias Rohr came from the German village of Busendorf in the Lothringen region.
