Rothammel
Adam Rothammel, a tailor (Schneider), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 1. The 1767 census identifies Adam Rothammel as the mayor (Vorsteher) of the colony and it is after him that the colony took its name.
In 1792, Mattias Rothammel moved from Rothammel to Sewald.
The 1767 census records that Adam Rothammel came from the German village of Molsheim in the Alsace region.
