There are 2 Sauer families recorded in the Volga German colony of Schönchen. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) In 1790, Jakob Sauer moved from Schönchen to Luzern. Jakob Sauer from Schönchen and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Luzern in Household No. Lz30.
(2) Heinrich Sauer and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn01.
Georg Sauer (born about 1806) is recorded on the 1834 census of Zug in Household No. 45. He is believed to be a descendant of one of these families from Schönchen. Further research is needed to verify this connection.
