Schlichting
Widower Georg Schlichting, a farmer, and his son Johann Georg (age 20) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.
Georg Schlichting and his son Georg (age 20) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widower Georg Schleicher [sic] and his son Georg (age 23) are recorded on the 1767 census of Jost in Household No. 77 along with his new wife Rebekka Gödicke, widow of Kaspar Christian Gödicke who had died en route to the colonies, and her children (Johann Friedrich, age 15; Justina, age 12; Charlotte, age 3). They had settled in Jost on 19 August 1767.
Georg Schlichting and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Lauwe in Household No. Lw11.
The sons of Georg Schlichting and their families are recorded on the 1834 census of Lauwe in Households No. 21 & 54.
The 1767 census records that Georg Schleicher [sic] came from the German village of Klein Glien in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
