Hermann Schmidt, a farmer, and his wife Anna are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 17.
In 1771, widower Hermann Schmidt and his son moved from Zug to Katharinenstadt.
In 1789, Hermann Schmidt and his family moved from Katharinenstadt to Rohleder.
The 1767 census records that Hermann Schmidt came from the German village of Gera in the Thüringen region.
