Schuchmann (Grimm)
Johannes Schuchmann, a farmer, immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein), arriving in Flensburg on 9 June 1762. His first unnamed wife died 1 April 1763, and he remarried Anna Katharina Romig, niece of Johann Valentin Romig.
They deserted the Danish colonies on 3 May 1765 and joined the migration to Russia. They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm.
Johannes Schuchmann died, and Anna Katharina remarried to Jakob Tiede. They are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 68.
In 1790, Friedrich Schuckmann moved from Grimm to Kutter.
The 1834 Census of Grimm records Johannes Schuckmann (born about 1794 in Kutter) in Household No. 289.
The Eichhorns record that Johannes Schuchmann came from the German region of Hessen-Darmstadt.
Contemporary generations generally use the spelling of Schuckmann.
