Johannes [Jakob] Seib, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.
Johannes Seib and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ernestinendorf on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32 along with newborn daughter Anna.
In 1769, Johannes Seib and his family moved from Ernestinendorf to Biberstein.
Johannes Seib and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Biberstein in Household No. Bb08.
Philipp Christian Seib, son of Johannes Seib, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 25.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Seib came from the German village of Warzenbach in the Hessen region.
