Stöhr (Balzer)
Paul Stöhr, son of Hans Michael & Anna Rosina Stöhr, married Anna Maria [surname not known]. The baptisms of two children born to Paul & Anna Maria Stöhr are recorded on the parish register of Käferthal: (1) Johann Michael, baptized 24 May 1755; and (2) Maria Margaretha, baptized 28 July 1760.
Paul Stöhr, a farmer, his wife Maria, and their children (Elisabeth, age 12; Johann Michael, age 9; Katharina, age 7; Margaretha, age 4½; Jakob, age 3 weeks) and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 29 May 1762.
The birth of an additional child (Johann Jakob Stöhr) is recorded in Denmark in July 1763.
They requested to leave the Danish colonies on 24 April 1765 and joined the migration to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 28 March 1766 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.
In 1788, Peter Stehr moved from Balzer to Schilling.
The 1767 census records that Paul Stöhr came from the German region of Kurpfalz. The Eichhorns record that Paul Stöhr came from the German village of "Käferthal, Oberamt Mannheim, Kurpfalz."
