Strack (Pfeifer)

Johann Adam Strack, a locksmith (Schlosser) from Reiffenburg in the area of Bassenheim, & Eliesabetha Hermann from Usingen were married on 11 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Johann Adam Strack, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer on 22 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 67 along with Johannes Herrmann (age 10), orphaned son of Christian Herrmann. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Strack and Herrmann families, but it is believed that Christian and Elisabeth were siblings.

In 1790, Johann Adam Strack (the son) moved from Pfeifer to Preuss. Adam Strack (the son) and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps46.

Adam Strack (the father) and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Pfeifer in Household No. Pf22 along with a note that son Jakob is working in the colony of Hölzel.

The 1834 census of Graf records in Household No. 74 that Johannes Strack moved from Pfeifer to Graf in 1832.

The 1857 census of Pfeifer records in Household No. 187 that Alois Strack and his family moved from Pfeifer to Josefstal in 1852.
