Stremel

Johann Stremmel, a farmer, his wife Eva, and children (Barbara, age 18; Adam, age 11; Johann, age 9; Erhard, age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

The children of the deceased Johann Strömel ([a] Barbara, age 19; [b] Adam, age 13; [c] Johannes, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 63 along with Johann Ziegler. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Strömel and Ziegler families.

[b] Johann Adam Stremel from Pfeifer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km001.

[c] Johannes Stremel from Pfeifer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km021.

Johannes Stremel and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kamenka in Household No. 17 along with a note that they moved to Köhler.

In 1827, Johannes Stremel and his family relocated from Kamenka to Köhler. They are recorded on the 1834 census of Köhler in Household No. 4.

Jakob Stremel, son of Karl Stremel, relocated from Kamenka to Göbel between 1834 & 1850.

Jakob Stremel is recorded on the 1857 census of Göbel in Household No. 156 along with a note that he moved to Marienfeld in 1852.

Michael Stremel from Kamenka and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 28.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Stremel came from the German region of Franken (Franconia). The 1767 census records that the Strömel children came from the German village of Florenberg [?].
