Johannes Urich (age 35), a weaver (Leinweber), his wife Maria Elisabeth Thom (age 34), and children (Barbara, age 12; Friedrich, age 9; Catharina, age 7; Margaretha, age 5; Peter, age 3) are recorded on a list of colonists dated 23 September 1765 who were gathering in the town of Worms.

Johannes Urich, a farmer, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and children (Barbara, age 14; [a] Friedrich, age 12; [b] Katharina, age 9; [c] Johannes, age 1) are recorded there on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 5. They had settled there on 18 July 1766.

Johannes Urich and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm27.

[a] The widow of Friedrich Urich and their children are recorded on the 1798 census of Schuck in Household No. Su23.

Balthasar Urich, son of Friedrich Urich, from Schuck and his son Johannes (age 1) are recorded on the 1811 census of Seelmann along with a note that he had arrived in Seelmann from Schuck in 1805.

[b] Katharina Zink née Urich and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schuck in Household No. Su24.

[c] In 1789, Johannes Urich and his wife moved from Volmer to Schuck.

Johannes Urich, son of Johannes Urich, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Schuck in Household No. 73 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Josefstal in 1852.

Johannes and Ignatius Urich and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Households No. 3 & 4.

The 1765 Worms list records that Johannes Urich came from the German village of Hallgarten. The 1767 census records that Johannes Urich came from the German region of Zweibrücken.

There are some translations that erroneously record this surname as Ulrich. [Ulrich is from Hildmann; U(h)rich is from Volmer.]
