Heinrich von der Au, his wife Gertruda, and children (Anna, age 12; Elisabeth, age 10; Nikolaus, age 7; Johann, age 4; Adam, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Heinrich von der Au, his wife Gertraut, and children (Anna Maria, age 12; Elisabeth, age 10¼, Johann, age 4) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from Oranienbaum to Saratov along with a note that the father Heinrich died en route.
Gertrude remarried to Jakob Völker who was traveling with them on the journey from Oranienbaum to Saratov. They and the von der Au children are recorded on a list of Beauregard recruits that accompanied the 1767 census of the Volga German Colonies in Household No. 83.
They eventually lived in the Volga German colonies of Susannental and Luzern.
