Heinrich Weitzel, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

Heinrich settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter on 16 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 83 along with his new wife Elisabeth.

In 1789, Kazimir Weitzel moved from Kutter to Balzer.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Heinrich Weitzel came from the German region of Isenburg.
