Discussion & Documentation

There are two Wolf families from Mannheim that settled in the Volga German colony of Graf on 10 January 1766.

(1) Georg Wolf, a farmer, is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 36 along with Agatha, widow of Johann Adam Haaley, and her children [some of whom are probably stepchildren] (Maria Margaretha Haaley, age 18; Peter Haaley, age 12; Leonhard, age 3).

(2) Heinrich Wolf, a farmer, his wife Anna Katharina, and children (Johann Jakob, age 16; Johann Georg, age 13), are recorded on the 1767 census of Graf in Household No. 37. In 1787, Valentin Wolf moved from Graf to Rohleder. [He may or may not be connected to these Wolf families.] \

The 1767 census records that both Georg Wolf and Heinrich Wolf came from the German village of Mannheim in the Kurpfalz region.
