The parish register of Büdingen records the marriage of Johannes Wunsch and Maria Barbara Weisheim on 10 March 1766.

Johann[es] Wunsch, a farmer, and his wife Maria Barbara arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 27 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.

Heinrich Jakob Wunsch from Galka and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenberg.

The 1767 census records that Johann Wunsch came from the German village of Pappenheim.
