Michael Zinnkann, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Michael Zinckan [sic], his wife Anna, and children (Andreas, age 17; Elisabet, age 8; Margareta, age 4; Ludowig, age 2½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Ludowig died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52. They are recorded on the 1798 Census in Orlovskaya in Household No. Or25.
In 1785, Johann Michael Zinnkann and his family moved from Hummel to Meinhard.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Michael Zinnkann came from the German village of Vollmerz.
