Michael Zinnkann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Andreas, age 17; Elisabeth, age 8; Margaretha, age 4; Ludwig, age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Michael Zinckan [sic], his wife Anna, and children (Andreas, age 17; Elisabet, age 8; Margareta, age 4; Ludowig, age 2½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Ludowig died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52. They are recorded on the 1798 Census in Orlovskaya in Household No. Or25.
Elisabeth Zinnkann is recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 51 along with a note that she married on 12 April 1778 to Heinrich David Feidel.
In 1785, Johann Michael Zinnkann and his family moved from Hummel to Meinhard.
Michael Zinnkann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or25.
Peter Zinnkann from Hummel and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Meinhard in Household No. Mn25.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Michael Zinnkann came from the German village of Vollmerz.
