Axt (Volmer)*

Johannes Axt, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and son [perhaps brother] Nikolaus (age 17) are recorded on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 45. They had settled there on 1 April 1767.

Peter Heinrich Axt from Volmer and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Neu-Kolonie in Household No. Nk40.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Axt came from the German village of Selzen in the Kurpfalz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Graf (Volmer)

Mattias Graf, a musician (Musiker), his wife Maria Regina, daughter Katharina (age ½), and mother-in-law Maria [Teiler] (age 50) are recorded on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 24. They had settled there on 18 July 1766.

Mattias Graf and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm41 along with a note that son Joseph Graf is working in the colony of Dehler.

Joseph Graf, son of Mattias Graf, from Kamenka is recorded on the 1811 census of Brabander in Household No. 81 along with a note that he had arrived in Brabander in 1799.

Achstädter*

Franz Achstädter, a farmer, his wife Susanna, and daughter Anna Maria (age ½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 37. They had settled there on 18 July 1767.

The widow and daughter of Franz Achstädter are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm15.

Johannes Achstädter is recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm34 along with his sister and brother-in-law Johannes Sauer.

Huss

Johannes Huss, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and son Johann Valentin (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 32. They had settled there on 18 July 1766.

Johannes Huss is recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm46 along with a note that he is working in Dehler.

Valentin Huss and his family (sons: Johannes, age 10; Johannes Georg, age 6; Hieronimus, age 4; Heinrich, age 3-months) are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm12.

Lang (Volmer)

Michael Lang, his wife Maria Magdalena, and children (Gertrude, age 10; Michael, age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 28. They had settled there on 18 July 1767.

Michael Lang and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm28.

The 1767 census records that Michael Lang came from the German village of Gernsheim in the Kurmainz region.

Sachs (Volmer)

Widower Johannes Sachs is recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm42 along with his daughter and son-in-law.

The death of Johannes Sachs on 6 March 1806 is recorded in the parish register of Volmer.

In 1794, Peter Heinrich Sachs [mis-recorded as Hacks] moved from Volmer to Seelmann.

Nikolaus Sachs [mis-recorded as Hacks] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm43.

Schäfer (Volmer)

There are two Schäfer families recorded in Volmer. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) Johannes Schäfer from Volmer is recorded on the 1798 census of Husaren.

(2) The 1834 census of Volmer (Household No. 97) records that Michael Schäfer moved from Volmer to Liechtling.

Sieb (Volmer)

Franz Sieb, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Anna Margaretha, age 3; Johann Jakob, age ½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Volmer in Household No. 33. They had settled there on 18 July 1767.

Franz Sieb and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm22.

Johannes Sieb and his family relocated to the daughter colony of Marienfeld in 1852.

Margaretha Sieb, widow of Johannes Sieb, and her family are recorded on the 1857 census of Marienfeld.
