History: 

Offerle was founded in 1876 on the Edwards/Ford County line, and was named for Lawrence Offerle, one of its earliest residents. Volga German families, mostly of the Roman Catholic faith practice, settled in and around Offerle.

Volga German Congregations: 

St. Joseph's Catholic Church served the Volga German families who settled in and around Offerle. The church cemetery itself is located about a half mile west of Offerle, in Ford County.
