Schmidt (Sewald-2)
Johannes Dithion, a shoemaker (Schuhmacher), his wife Rosina, and [step-]son Georg [Schmidt] (age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Severnyi Orel (Northern Eagle) under the command of Lieutenant Pyotr Malenkov.
Johannes Dithion, his [new] wife Philippina, and stepsons (Heinrich [Lehmann], age 10; Georg Leonhard [Schmidt], age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Sewald in Household No. 5. They had settled there on 20 August 1767.
Georg Leonhard Schmidt is recorded on the 1798 census of Pfeifer in Household No. Pf71.
Georg Leonhard Schmidt and his descendants are recorded on the 1834 census of Pfeifer in Households No. 18 & 72.
Karl Schmidt and his brother Kaspar Schmidt, sons of Georg Leonhard Schmidt (junior), and their families moved from Pfeifer to Marienfeld in 1852.
Karl Schmidt, his brother Kaspar, and their families from Pfeifer are recorded on the 1857 census of Marienfeld.
The 1767 census does not record from where Georg Leonhard Schmidt came.
