Discussion & Documentation

Johannes Adler and Anna Dorothea Dey were married 30 November 1729 in Langendiebach. They have one known son, Johannes, born 3 May 1748 in Gettenbach, today part of the Gründau municipality. Anna Dorothea Dey had been born 23 May 1708 in Mittelgründau. The Dey line can be traced back several generations in Mittelgründau.

Widow Anna Adler and her son Johann (age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard a ship named Die Perle under the command of Skipper Gerhardt Hermann Thomsen.

Widow Anna Dorothea Adler, a farmer's wife, and her son Johannes (age 18) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kolb in Household No. 12.

They settled in the colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12.

The Oraninenbaum passenger list records that Anna Adler came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that Anna Dorothea Adler came from the German village of Rüsselsheim in the region of Hessenburg.
