Grün(e)wald (Frank)

There are two Grünwald families from Groß-Felda that migrated to the Volga German colonies. Both are descendants of Hartmann Grünewald who was buried on 11 May 1670 in Kestrich.

(1) Johann Kaspar Grünwald, son of Hans Kasper Grünwald & Anna Elisabeth Scharmann, was born 4 February 1723 in Groß-Felda. He married on 12 August 1744 to Anna Katharina Eißfeller, daughter of Johann Conrad Eißfeller & Anna Catharina Dietz. She had been born 17 May 1718 in Groß-Felda.

Flath (Frank)

Johann Friedrich Flath, son of Philipp Flath & Eva Maria Morasch, was born 4 August 1743 in Mümling-Grumbach, near Höchst im Odenwald where he was baptized on 6 August 1743.

He and his wife Eva Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Johann Fried. Flaath [sic] and his wife Cathrina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Cathrina died en route.

Batt / Bath

Hans Georg Bath, son of Hans Georg & Eva Maria Bath, was born 25 Feb 1714 in Rheinbischofsheim. He married Elisabeth Walther on 23 Jan 1743. The baptisms of three children born to Hans Georg Bath & Elisabeth Walther are recorded in the parish register of Rheinbischofsheim: (1) Christina, born 23 November 1754; (2) David, born 21 June 1756; and (3) Michael, born 3 October 1758.

Alt (Norka)

Johann Heinrich Alt, son of Leonhard Alt & Anna Barbara Kohlhepp, was born 27 September 1734 in Oberzell. He married in Büdingen on 21 April 1766 to Anna Gertruda Vögel, daughter of Johannes Vögel & Gertruda Dorn. Anna Gertruda had been born in nearby Weichersbach on 29 April 1741.

Johann Heinrich Philipp Alt and his family immigrated to Russia from the German village of Schwarzenfels. They arrived at the port of Oranienbaum from Lübeck on 9 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.
