Betz (Frank)*
Johann Jacob Best [sic], son of Hasnss Jacob & Maria Barbara Best, was born 18 May 1724 in Ochsenbach, Württemberg.
He married Maria Magdalena Henne, daughter of Johann Henne, on 5 November 1748 in Ochsenbach. Anna Christina (baptized Christina Barbara) was born 12 December 1760 in Ochsenbach.
Johann Betz, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and children (Christina, age 5; Julianna, age 1½) arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
Stangenrod, Kr. Gießen, Hessen
The first written mention of Stanginrode [sic] is from a document dated 1320.
From 1604 to 1806, the area encompassing Stangerod was located in the Landgrafschaft of Hessen-Darmstadt.
Today, Stagenrod is administratively part of the municipality of Grünberg.
The 1767 census records that one of the Kutscher families came from the German village of Atzenhain which is located about 2 kilometers northeast of Stangenrod, and just over the boarder into what today is Kreis Vogelsberg.

Weitzel (Frank)
The marriage of Johann Georg Weitzel and Anna Elisabeth Mühl is recorded in Büdingen on 14 March 1766 along with the marriage of Johann Wilhelm Opfer & Eleonore Weitzel, also on 14 March 1766. Weitzel was recorded as being from "Stengerat" and Opfer from "Belterstein". There is not a place called "Stengerat" or a place called "Belterstein," but there is a Stangenrod with a Beltershain just west of it.
Bamberger
Phillip Bamberger, son of Caspar & Anna Catharina Bamberger, was born 14 December 1732 in Sprendlingen. He married on 9 February 1751 in Sprendlingen to Anna Gertruda Stellwagen, daughter of Adam & Anna Barbara Stellwagen. She had been born 17 May 1728 and died on 11 March 1763.
Bock (Frank)*
Johann Burkhardt Bock, son of Johann Berghard Bock & his first wife Anna Margaretha Waller, was born 13 September 1745 (baptized 15 September 1745). His half-sister Anna Christina Bock, daughter of Johann Berghard Bock & his second wife Anna Margaretha Braun, was born 26 January 1753 (baptized 28 January 1753). They were both baptized at the Lutheran Church in Altenhaßlau.
Weisgerber (Huck)
The births of the following children of Johann Heinrich Weisgerber are recorded in the parish of Wächtersbach: (1) Anna Maria, born 6 August 1741; (2) Johann Phillip, born 21 December 1749; (3) Johannes, born 20 August 1752; (4) Johann Heinrich, born 13 March 1755; and (5) Wolf Heinrich, born 27 November 1757.
Eberhard(t) (Huck)
Johannes Eberhard married on 14 July 1751 in Wächtersbach to Anna Catharina Bringmann. The baptisms of two children born to Johannes Eberhard & Anna Catharina Bringmann are recorded in the parish register of Wächtersbach: (1) Johannes, baptized on 23 January 1754; and (2) Johanna Sophia, baptized on 31 August 1755.
The Eberhard family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.
Brotzmann (Huck)
There are three Brotzmann families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg. They all settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 1 July 1767.
(1) Christoph Brotzmann, a farmer, and his family are recorded on the 1767 census of Huck in Household No. 16.
(2) Jakob Brotzmann, a farmer, and his family are recorded on the 1767 census of Huck in Household No. 17.

Johann Georg Hayn, son of Mathes Hayn, married on 5 March 1750 in Wächtersbach to Anna Maria Jockel, daughter of Johannes Jockel. The births of three of their children are recorded in Wächtersbach: (1) Johann Ludwig, born 2 May 1753; (2) Anna Catharina, born 4 April 1756; and (3) Christian Friedrich, born 19 September 1762. In Wächtersbach, the spelling of the surname varies: Haÿn or Hayn.
