During the Seven Years' War (1756-1763), the village of Ronshausen was abandoned several times.
Parts of the fortress church in Ronshausen date back 800 years. The building includes rustic Baroque paintings.
The oldest documented mention of the village of Rommers dates to 1441. It was deserted at some point after that, but by 1558, there were four people living there again.
Even today, there is not really much of a village there - only a few houses.
Since 31 December 1970, Rommers has been administratively part of the municipality of Gersfeld.
