Rusch, Konstantin

The Rev. Konstantin Rusch, son of Jakob & Tamara Rusch, was born in 1894 [other sources record 1893] in the Volga German colony of Huck.

He studied at the University of Basel in Switzerland from 1909 to 1914. He returned to Huck where he served as a school teacher. From 1914-1917, he served in the tsarist army as a clerk, and from 1917-1921, as a clerk in the Red Army. In 1921, he served as an elementary school teacher in the colony of Kolb. From 1924-1927, he was a teacher in the colony of Kolpino (Leningrad region).

Ruff, Johann Frederick

(Johann) Frederick Ruff was born 7 February 1830 in Badaleben, Germany, not too far from Magdeburg, the son of Johann H. and Maria (Miehe) Ruff. He was educated at the University of Berlin and came to America in 1852 to study for the Lutheran ministry in Perry County, Missouri. He met his future wife, Charlotte Posner, and her parents, brothers, and sister on the ship. On 15 December 1857, they married in Waldenburg, Michigan.      

Rüger, Woldemar

The Rev. Woldemar Rüger was born in 1891 in Saratov. In 1928 he was serving as a seminary lecturer, but from 1928 to 1934 he served the parish of St. Michaels in Moscow. He was arrested and exiled to Siberia where he died in 1939.

Ruder, Peter

Pastor Peter Ruder served the Zion Congregational Church in Ritzville, Washington, for 10 years. He retired in 1951 and moved to Pasco, Washington. He married Emma Dorothea (surname unknown). She was born 26 February 1884 and died 30 January 1963. They have three daughters: Florence Gackle, Theresa Mieniger, and Margaret Loraine Ruder.

Rothermel, Alexander

The Rev. Alexander Rothermel, son of Nikolaus Rothermel (25 December 1847 - May 1917) & Anna Kraft (25 April 1854 - 1932), was born 4 October 1880 in Orlovskaya and died on 15 February 1963 in Hürsdorf b. Schöningen (Germany). He was ordained on 1 March 1909 and served the parishes of Gnadenflur from 1909-1912 and Rosenheim from 1912-1922. In 1922 he moved to Germany.

He was married in Moscow on 17 August 1909 to Elisabeth Klara König, daughter of Theodor König (26 March 1861 - 1 November 1929) & Anna Elisabeth Klünder. Elisabeth had been born in Mitau on 22 July 1890.

Roeckl, Ildephonse

Father Ildephonse was born in Trautenberg, Bavaria, on 27 July 1888. He came to the United States in 1904. After spending two years with the Benedictine Fathers of St. Vincent's Archabbey, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, as a brother of candidate and novice, he began his ecclesiastical studies with the Capuchin Fathers in St. Fidelis Prepatory Seminary, Herman, Pennsylvania. He studied philosophy in St. Fidelis Seminary, Victoria, Kansas, and completed his theological studies in Sts. Peter and Paul monastery, Cumberland, Maryland. He was ordained 22 September 1918 in Mt. St.

Riedel, Peter

Father Riedel was born in 1880 in Herzog. He began his seminary training in Saratov and graduated from the Theological Academy in St. Petersburg. He was ordained as a subdeacon on 23 December 1901 in Grosswerder and ordained a priest in 1903.

He served from 3 July 1903 to 8 September 1906 as vicar in Katharinenstadt. He served in Marienfeld from 1911 to 1914. In 1928, he became parish priest in Schönchen.
